About Partners in Progress Primary School

Partners In Progress School is HUGE, with 354 children, and 10 teachers. The school and a healthcare clinic were built in August 2025. The government was SO HAPPY that we came, they agreed to pay teacher salaries! UNHEARD OF! Their dream of a school has come true. They through us a HUGE party, gave Phyllis a COW, and slaughtered a cow to feed the community! The new school director said that children are coming to Partners in Progress from as far away as 15 kilometers away! The community consists of a Fulani village on one side of the road, living in peace with another tribe on the other side of the road! Here's a great story from Missionary Phyllis Sortor about the school: This is my new friend Abubakar, a Jarawa man in this community. I asked him to share the comments he'd made to me yesterday, and he graciously agreed. Abubakar's message: "I'm very happy with this project. We have stayed for a long time, looking for a school in this village - we couldn't get it. And now, just like a dream, we saw these people. Others in the village say we should take it as a play (not real). But one day we saw it with our naked eyes. We saw your materials for building a school. We are really happy. We have really no words to say but thank you for doing this job. I hope to say to the Director of Schools for Africa, may God help them and guide them, protect them from any calamity. The entire people of this village, this community, they are very happy. Pleasure and joy. Thank you so much. Thank you. God bless you."
