About Solid Rock Good Life Academy

Solid Rock Good Life Academy was built in early 2023. With over 183 students, and growing quickly, we had to turn students away! We rebuilt the storage room and office into classrooms to accommodate the children. There is even an afternoon class for 15 adult students! Missionary Phyllis Sortor was invited to our Security Guard Jacob’s baby dedication, and she fell in love with his church. God told her to build a permanent structure for them, as they were renting a tin building. A generous donor funded that church, then asked what else we need. We needed a SCHOOL, and he said yes to that, too! The church was totally willing to partner with the Fulani school! The Ardo of the village nearby is VERY supportive of the school. His children are all there, and he and wife are taking afternoon classes! Ardo shared his delight with his brother who lives an hour away. The brother persistently requested a school for 3 years. We finally visited him, and couldn't turn him down! We hope to build Argo's brother a school in 2026/2027! The school land is VERY ROCKY! Men had to build large fires over the rocks, then manually crack and hammer the rock down to a level grade. Hence the name SOLID ROCK SCHOOL! There are zinc mines all around this school, which CAN be a danger to the children, who are small enough to fall down the mine holes! There is also a bird sanctuary nearby, much to Phyllis's delight!
